Fire

Picture

Since our ancestors first walked on this earth fire has been an integral part of the human story, used not only as a source of heat and light but also for its transformational energy.  We are living in a time of great potential for change.  We too can harness the power of fire to support us all.

Light

Picture

We will be tending fires simultaneously all around the world. Light and tend your fire any time between sunrise, 30 June 2020 and sunrise, 4 July 2020.  Your fire could be as simple as a candle.

For Life

Picture

Our intent is to create the space for grieving what has been lost and hope for what is to come.

Where is it happening?

Check out planned fires around the world on our interactive map.  And add your own pin to the map here.

Get involved

In its simplest form, light a fire and be present with it.

At any point from sunrise 30 June until sunrise 4 July light and tend your 'fire'.  It is helpful to hold a specific intention for what you'd like your fire to be for.

Your fire could be:
  • a candle
  • the fire in the hearth of your home
  • a fire outdoors

Be it for minutes, hours or more, your fire will join the others lit in this time including groups spanning the globe holding 96 hour continuous fires.

Stay safe

Please be sure you follow all applicable fire safety precautions (including local laws and regulations).

We recommend being with a fire in a form that is familiar to you.  Be aware in some parts of the world it has been very dry, so please take appropriate precautions.

Please NEVER LEAVE A FIRE UNATTENDED.

Please
make absolutely certain that any fire you light is totally extinguished and the ground is cool to touch before leaving the fire site.
